Joint replacements offer relief and flexibility

Are you keen to get your retirement back on track, alleviate pain and discomfort and spend more time doing what you love best? Hip and knee replacements can be daunting but many seniors have found a new lease on life with improved flexibility and range of motion.

Do these symptoms sound familiar?

  • Persistent pain that limits how far you can move – despite taking medication
  • Experiencing pain when walking with an aid
  • Lack of mobility
  • Joint stiffness
  • Joint swelling
  • Lack of sleep due to pain
  • Unable to use the stairs
  • Trouble reaching your toes to put on socks or to wash and clip your toe nails
  • Unacceptable restriction of everyday activities due to pain

If you suffer from any of these symptoms and think that a joint replacement might be right for you, consult with your local GP.
If left untreated a diseased joint can cause constant pain and limit your range of movement. A total joint replacement removes the diseased joint and replaces it with an artificial joint (prosthesis). A total joint replacement can improve everyday life by restoring motion and relieving pain if you suffer with joint damage.
The procedure can treat the following conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Ligament damage or infection
  • Broken bone
  • Bone tumour
  • Osteonecrosis (due to lack of bone beneath the joint surface)
