Boambee Gardens gearing up for Daffodil Day event

Boambee Gardens Retirement Village is joining the fight against cancer with its annual Daffodil Day community event on Thursday 23rd August.

The village is extending an invitation to members of the public to join in the fun between 10:30am and 12pm at 17 Walco Drive, Sawtell.

Guests can enjoy morning tea, market stalls, raffles and much more in the friendly atmosphere of the village community centre.

Daffodil Day is one of the biggest events in the Cancer Council’s calendar, with thousands of Australians coming together every August to help raise funds.

Money raised goes towards funding vital research, support services, prevention programs and advocacy.

Lexi Connor of Boambee Gardens said residents at the beachside community are working hard to ensure the event is a success.

“We have a lot of very generous residents at the village, and Daffodil Day is going to be a lot of fun for a great cause,” she said.

“The craft ladies always do a fantastic job making goods to sell.”

The village holds Daffodil Day events annually, with $772 raised last year, including $250 in sales from resident-made crafts.

Boambee Gardens is inviting everyone to help the fight for a cancer-free future by joining in this friendly community event for just a gold coin donation.
