When Ewa Inglis made the short move from her home near Bartonvale Gardens into a care apartment at the Enfield retirement village, her peace of mind improved almost immediately.
Despite a positive outlook and can-do approach to life, Ewa was increasingly finding daily chores hard to manage before making the move.
“My kitchen cupboards were too high, and I had a nasty fall when I lost my balance,” she said.
“Moving to Bartonvale Gardens, I felt much safer and a course I took at the village gave me better mobility and taught me fall prevention.
“The village has improved my quality of life enormously and I’m very happy here.”

“There’s plenty here for people to do,” Ewa said.
“People are very friendly, and the atmosphere is very good among residents and staff.”
Ewa and her husband, who still lives in the family home, enjoy spending time at their second property near the beach.
“I really like that you can come and go from the village as you please,” she said.
“My husband and I go away for a few days or a week and it doesn’t matter.
“The fact that we can do so easily without any restrictions is very convenient.”
