Residents display artistic talent

Art has been a lifelong passion for many of the talented residents at Wood Glen Retirement Village, and this year’s Art Show provided a unique opportunity to exhibit their work to a crowd of like-minded enthusiasts.

The annual event is always popular amongst the local art community but this exhibition had a unique goal: to showcase works from residents at Wood Glen as well as RetireAustralia’s three other Central Coast villages.
“We usually feature a variety of professional and amateur artists from up and down the coast, but this year, we wanted to put the residents’ work front and centre,” says Village Manager Deborah Baker.
“Art means so many different things to our residents – an old hobby or a new interest explored in retirement, or even a career!”
“There’s a lot of talent within our community and our annual Art Show was the perfect way to show it off.”
Held on 5th and 6th July in the Wood Glen Lodge, the Art Show displayed 70 pieces in a range of mediums including painting, photography, sculpture and drawings.
The event was a great success and saw 200 visitors gather at the village to enjoy the creative atmosphere and admire the works on display.
