The Melbourne Cup will visit Steriline Racing, The Laurels, Auchendarroch Lawns and The Barker Hotel in a whirlwind tour of the Adelaide Hills on Wednesday 10th October.

Members of the public and local media are invited to come along and be a part of the event between 10:30am and 11:30am.

The Laurels’ Anna Zinenko said the event is a great chance to get a taste of Melbourne Cup fever before the November “race that stops a nation”.

“We’re honoured to be a part of the Melbourne Cup journey this year and it’s great for the entire Hills community,” she said.

“We want to share the experience, so everyone is welcome to come along and get their photo taken holding the cup.”

The Melbourne Cup Tour has visited Australia and New Zealand since 2003, giving communities the opportunity to view the $200,000, 18-carat-gold trophy.

The tour traditionally visits schools, hospitals, aged-care facilities and community events.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event at The Laurels, 2 Hutchinson Street, Mount Barker between 10:30am and 11:30am on Wednesday 10th October.
