Drayton Villas Retirement Village in Toowoomba raised $3439 for drought relief at its Seniors' Spring Fair on Saturday 29th September.

Residents raised the sum by selling items including books, DVDs, bric-a-brac, plants, condiments, honey, and baked goods.
A Devonshire Tea was also served, and a multi-draw raffle and sausage sizzle took place in the award-winning community gardens.
Local MP David Janetzki was in attendance to judge the residents’ apron parade competition, and a performance by the village’s line-dancing group was enjoyed by all.
All money is being donated to the Queensland Country Women’s Association Rural Crisis Fund to go directly to farming families in need.
Village Manager Scott Burton said he was delighted with the outcome of the event.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who attended and made the day such a success,” he said.
“Many of our residents have farming backgrounds, so this means a lot.”
In September 2018, the Queensland Government declared 58.1% of the land area of the state to be drought-affected.
