Glengara turns 18

Celebrations are under way at Glengara Retirement Village at Tumbi Umbi this month as the popular retirement living community turns 18.

Glengara Retirement Village Country Club

One of four of the company’s Central Coast portfolio, the village has become one of the region’s most trusted retirement living options.

Village Manager Andrew Glover said Glengara has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

“The lifestyle, security and community the village can offer is second to none,” he said.

Carol Becker has lived at Glengara since its beginnings, and watched the village grow into the first-class retirement community it is today.

“We moved here basically on day one when there were only a few villas, and we watched it all happen,” she said.

“I got involved in the singles club, ended up getting married two years ago, and had the wedding in the village’s country club!”

Situated on 16 hectares close to areas of natural beauty and beaches, as well as being within easy reach of Sydney, Glengara recently added 67 newly-built villas to make a total of 314.

“It’s a good area as it’s close to Mingara Recreation Club, shops, chemists and doctors, and we can catch buses and trains close by,” Carol said.

“I always recommend Glengara to people – I wouldn’t change anything.”
