A quadruple whammy of 90th birthday celebrations provided residents of Cleveland Manor Retirement Village with plenty of reason to party last month.
Joan Juster, Pearl Matthews, Doreen Platt and Glenda Rix celebrated their shared milestone with a joint afternoon tea in the village’s community centre.
Village Manager Wendy Rogers said it was wonderful to see residents making a combined effort in organising the party.
“It was a really nice opportunity for everyone to get together, celebrate those who have just reached a milestone, and welcome our newest residents,” Wendy said.
Around 50 residents celebrated with the distinguished birthday ladies, with jam and cream scones, chocolates, balloons, and cheerful renditions of ‘Happy Birthday to You’ in abundance.
Resident Alan Willis, whose 90th birthday will be in June, was also honoured at the party.
Wendy said the event was a great way to bring together village residents both old and new.
“It’s important to us that our new residents settle in and get to know the community, and regular events like this go a long way to help,” Wendy said.
“It was lovely to see so many residents attend.”
