New, approved community.
The proposal by RetireAustralia and the Yeronga Services and Community Club (YSCC) to deliver a new retirement village at the former Tarragindi Bowls Club site has been approved by the Queensland Planning and Environment Court. This follows earlier approval of the project by Brisbane City Council.
RetireAustralia is pleased to deliver this project as YSCC’s development partner and operator. The new retirement village will provide high quality, age-appropriate, independent living options for local residents seeking to remain within their community when they wish to downsize, along with new residents.
New community co-located with the new Tarragindi Bowls Club
The project will see the return of the Tarragindi Bowls Club to the site, following the club’s closure in December 2017. The new bowls club will feature a new, 10-rink championship-quality, turf bowling green, co-located with the retirement community, as well as a clubhouse and café.
The co-location of the club with the new retirement community provides a convenient recreational and social option for our future residents and the Tarragindi community.

High quality, landscaped park, with many different experiences:
The new community will have an open and green feel, with 70% of the site dedicated to open space.
The site will feature a large, landscaped, recreational green space for our future residents and the local community, including a common lawn, productive garden and children’s playground.
The park areas are designed to be a social, peaceful places where residents can relax and host family and friends, complemented by the community bowls club.
A variety of high-quality independent living options
When constructed, the new retirement community will include 94 independent living apartments, with underground parking. The majority of the apartments will be two bedrooms, with 11 different apartment types and sizes across the new community. Residents will have convenient access to the bowls club, large areas of open space and range of on-site facilities.
Construction timeline to be confirmed
A construction timeline has not yet been set, and RetireAustralia and YSCC look forward to providing project updates including the start of construction.
