Jean & Ian, residents since 2014
“We have been really pleased at the sense of community here and the good friends we have made. The units are well designed and our large double garage allows plenty of room for Ian’s lathes so that he can continue to enjoy wood-turning. There is a book club that meets once a month and a barbeque we go to every Friday evening. We both also have a lot of outside interests - we attend a garden club, ‘friends of the library’ group, University of the Third Age and we travel quite a bit - knowing we can just shut the door and leave. Living here frees you up to do the things you want to do!”
Maree, resident since 2014
“I’m a widow and it suited me to come here because I have my daughter and grandchildren close by and I was able to bring my little dog. The gardens and lawns are very well looked after and I love taking Meg for walks through the village. Before I moved in, I used to walk past Newling Gardens every day and saw my villa being constructed. I like it because it’s very spacious, has a lot of storage and backs onto parkland - it’s really lovely.”
Heather & Tony, residents since 2008
“We were living in a home with three levels of stairs and we knew we had to get out when Tony had a couple of falls. We’d looked at Newling Gardens a few times and knew it was ideal because there’s no chance of tripping on anything as it’s all level. We’ve also got a lovely wide hallway and big spacious rooms, suited to a wheelchair or walking frame, and an emergency call button. Besides those things, the aspect of the place is so pleasant and it’s very close to town which suits us. We’re very happy.”
