Research into retirees’ behavioural patterns

For many seniors the transition into retirement is a significant milestone that may affect their physical and mental wellbeing due to changes in sleep patterns, physical activity, sedentary behaviour and food and alcohol consumption.

Researchers from Curtin University are looking for retirees to participate in a survey study about behavioural patterns.
There are two questionnaires involved in the study:

  1. The first questionnaire will explore the extent to which retirees engage in alcohol consumption, sedentary behaviours, physical activity and sleep hygiene behaviours in their natural environments. It will take no longer than fifteen minutes to complete.
  2. The link for the second questionnaire will be sent seven days after the first questionnaire has been completed and will take no longer than five minutes to complete.

It is anticipated that the research will highlight whether intention, habit or possibly the combination of both plays a significant role in the behavioural changes that occur during the transition into retirement.
To commence the survey visit Curtin University. The researchers are seeking as many retirees as possible and the online survey will be active until 30th September 2016.
