Frequently Asked Questions

RetireAustralia has retirement communities across four regions in Queensland:

  • Greater Brisbane: Five communities: Arcadia (Yeronga), The Green Tarragindi, Cleveland Manor (Cleveland), Noyea Riverside (Logan) and Wellington Manor (Birkdale).
  • Gold Coast: The Verge at Burleigh in Miami, overlooking Burleigh Golf Course and minutes from the beach.
  • Toowoomba: Drayton Villas, offering country-style independent living just 10 minutes from Toowoomba’s CBD.
  • Bundaberg: Carlyle Gardens in beachside Bargara, just 15 minutes from Bundaberg.

Whether you’re looking for city convenience, coastal living or a relaxed regional setting, there’s a community to suit a range of lifestyles across Queensland.

Across Queensland, RetireAustralia offers independent living apartments and villas:

  • Brand-new apartments: Arcadia in Yeronga, The Green at Tarragindi and The Verge at Burleigh on the Gold Coast offer modern 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments built to Livable Housing Australia’s Gold Standard.
  • Independent living villas: Drayton Villas in Toowoomba offers 1 and 2-bedroom single-level villas with private courtyards. Carlyle Gardens in Bargara offers predominantly 1 and 2-bedroom villas in a beachside setting.

Availability varies by village, so check the page for your preferred community or get in touch directly.

RetireAustralia villages are not available for rental. Most villages operate under a leasehold model rather than a rental arrangement. You pay an entry payment for the right to occupy your home under a long-term lease or licence. The team at your preferred village can explain how this works and what the financial commitment looks like.

Pets are welcome at the majority of RetireAustralia’s retirement villages across Queensland. Most homes come with private courtyards or outdoor spaces, and RetireAustralia considers pets part of the family. Some guidelines apply around the types of pets suited to village life, so it’s worth checking with your preferred community for the specifics.

Yes. RetireAustralia’s newest Queensland community is Arcadia in Yeronga, Brisbane, a multi-stage development offering premium apartments, a Care Hub and resort-style amenities, with the first apartments now available.

Carlyle Gardens in Bargara (Bundaberg region) is also expanding with 38 new villas. These developments offer the chance to move into a brand-new home within an established or emerging community.

Queensland’s warm climate, relaxed lifestyle and diverse scenery make it one of Australia’s most popular retirement destinations.

RetireAustralia’s Queensland communities reflect that variety, from Arcadia and The Green Tarragindi within easy reach of Brisbane’s CBD, to beachside living at The Verge at Burleigh on the Gold Coast, country charm at Drayton Villas in Toowoomba, and coastal living at Carlyle Gardens in Bargara.

Each community is connected to local shops, healthcare and services, making day-to-day life convenient wherever you choose.

You can browse all of RetireAustralia’s Queensland communities on the website, view available homes and request a quote online. You can also book a village tour to see any community in person. To get in touch, call 1300 687 738 or contact your preferred village directly through its page on the website.

Costs vary between villages and home types. Generally, you’ll pay an entry payment along with monthly service fees covering maintenance, insurance, rates and access to shared facilities. Service fees are set on a cost-recovery basis, meaning RetireAustralia cannot profit from them.

A management fee applies when you leave the village. This fee helps cover the long-term costs of owning and caring for the community. The fee is calculated as a percentage of your original entry payment, and is capped. You’ll find the full details in your residence contract.

Most RetireAustralia villages in Queensland operate under a licence or leasehold model. This means RetireAustralia owns the land and buildings, and you acquire the right to live in your home under a long-term lease or licence, without paying stamp duty on entry.

Some RetireAustralia villages offer freehold strata title, where you own your home outright, though stamp duty and strata fees apply. The village team can explain the model that applies to your preferred community.

RetireAustralia is a retirement living provider, not aged care; the communities are designed for people who want to live independently. However, if your needs change, support is available:

  • Care Hubs: Arcadia in Brisbane and The Verge at Burleigh on the Gold Coast both have dedicated 10-suite Care Hubs for residents who need a higher level of ongoing support.
  • Support at Home: Available across most Queensland villages, covering household help through to personal care and nursing, either privately funded or through approved government-funded Support at Home services.
We know moving is a big step, let us guide you.

A member of our friendly team will get in touch in 1-2 business days.
