RetireAustralia COVID-19 Update: Easing of restrictions in Greater Sydney and Central Coast

On 29 January, the NSW Government eased COVID-19 restrictions, which is great news. Here’s a quick update of what this means for our Sydney and Central Coast communities.

Community centres, sporting and social activities:

  • All community centres and facilities have reopened
  • All sporting and social activities have resumed.
  • A cap on up to 50 people gathering outdoors and up to 30 in private residences.
  • Please book ahead to secure your place for activities, check in using the QR codes system, and practise social distancing.

Visitors

  • Visitors can access community centres and care apartments by checking in using the QR code system and completing a health declaration.
  • Additionally, community centre and care apartment visitors are requested to adhere to strict visitor numbers based on the size of apartments and as per village guidelines.
  • Children under 16 can visit residents in their care apartments and independent living villas and units.

Masks

  • Masks are required in situations where social distancing is not possible. This means that our team members will wear masks when serving food and providing personal care.
  • Masks are mandatory for both staff and patrons in hairdressing and beauty salons.
  • On village buses.
  • Mask use is becoming common, so if you feel safer continuing to wear one, you are encouraged to do so.

We are here to help

If you have any questions or concerns, or need support, please do not hesitate to call your Village Manager.

Thank for your patience and support in recent times. It certainly wasn’t the Christmas and New Year we all hoped for and we are most appreciative of the positive way in which our communities responded to the situation.
