Stars shine at Riverina Gums video premiere
After appearing on camera back in February, the residents at Wagga Wagga’s Riverina Gums Retirement Village were in the spotlight again at the much-anticipated premiere screening of their first promotional village video last week.
Residents, staff and family members gathered in the Riverina Gums community centre to walk the red carpet, pose for photos and enjoy drinks and finger food before the debut screening began.
The video encapsulates the warm, laidback atmosphere that the village is known for and features several residents in starring roles discussing what they enjoy about village life, from the friendly community to the ideal location.
“It’s a place to relax and enjoy life, and I would say to somebody, don’t hesitate to come in!” says longtime resident Mildred Anderson.
The video was aired to loud applause, calls for an encore viewing and plenty of rave reviews.
Among them was Village Manager Joanne Passlow, who says, “The video is absolutely fabulous – it’s a perfect showcase of the many reasons we all love living and working at the village.”
“The friendly residents are the best thing about Riverina Gums and it’s wonderful that they were so involved in bringing this video to life.”
The video will be shared on the village’s Facebook page and website in the coming days, but until then, those in the know are keeping their lips sealed.
“I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I will say that our residents are thrilled with how it turned out!” says Joanne.
“If anyone is hesitant or nervous about moving into a retirement village, I hope that this video will show them that our residents are so welcoming and so happy to be living at Riverina Gums.”
