COVID-19 update – South East Queensland | 31 July

To contain the spread of COVID-19, the Queensland Government has implemented a three day lock down starting at 4pm on Saturday 31st July throughout the 11 Local Government Areas of Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Moreton, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Lockyer valley, Somerset and the  Scenic Rim.

What are the restrictions for South East Qld?

  • Only essential businesses to open – hospitality, take away only
  • There are only 4 reasons to leave home (mask wearing applies)
    • To obtain essential goods/services including food and medication
    • To exercise within 10km of home with one other not from household
    • For essential work and to take children to school if you are an essential worker
    • To get health care, to care for some who needs assistance, or to get a Covid test or vaccine.
  • There are no visitors allowed to your home.

What does  this mean for our Brisbane and Gold Coast communities?

  • Essential workers only should be leaving home and therefore visiting the village. You should feel comfortable turning away other visitors.
  • From 4pm Saturday 31st July resident activities cease for the lockdown period
  • Community Centres will be closed for the lockdown period
  • Checkpoints
    • Gated communities: Gates will be closed
    • Ungated communities: Follow directions at village entrance
  • Sales – appointments to be rescheduled
  • You should only leave home for one of the four reasons listed above.
