RetireAustralia Coronavirus update: 24 June 2020

As the state governments continue to gradually ease COVID-19 restrictions, we’re constantly reviewing the safety measures we have in place at retirement villages.

In this update we want to share the latest information on visiting our communities.

Visiting care apartment residents

Up to 2 visitors at a time with social distancing.
This is in line with state government rules that allow 1 person per 4 square metres indoors. It also takes into account the average size of care apartments.
In your home only, visitors are not to access communal areas please.
Visits from children are not recommended.
Visiting hours, Monday to Friday, during village office hours.
We are doing our best to balance the health and safety of our residents with the need for family and friends to connect. If you are unable to visit during these hours, please call the Village Manager and we’ll work together to make alternative arrangements.
Visitors are required to sign in, have their temperature taken and sign a health declaration.

Visiting independent living residents

Up to 5 visitors at a time with social distancing.
This is in line with state government rules that allow 1 person per 4 square metres indoors. It also takes into account the size of independent living units and villas.
In your home only, visitors are not to access communal areas please.

Keep cautious and stay safe

We know it is hard, but COVID-19 is still around, so we all need to be cautious and continue to do as much as reasonably possible to ensure that the virus doesn’t enter our village.

So, we also recommend that:

Wash and dry your hands often and thoroughly.
That you maintain social (physical) distancing – at least 1.5 metres or 2 large steps, and that you don’t hug or kiss visitors.
That you keep visits short, ideally no more than an hour.
