RetireAustralia COVID-19 update: SA Easing of Restrictions

Published: 21 November 2020

The South Australian government has announced a gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

What does this mean for our villages?

From Friday 20 November:

  • Exercise:
    • Residents may exercise outdoors, including walking dogs.
  • Masks:
    • While masks are no longer mandatory, we recommend that residents wear mask if they go out in public.
    • Team members are required to wear masks in the community centre, in care apartments and within residents’ homes.
  • All other restrictions remain in place for now.

From Monday 23 November

  • Visitors:
    • Restrictions lifted on visitors to independent living units.
    • Two visitors at a time to care apartments.
    • No visitors from children under 16 please.
    • We recommend that visitors to the village wear masks. We will make these available if needed.
  • All other restrictions remain in place and will be reviewed again on Monday.
    • This means that the community centre remains closed and all sporting and social activities are on hold.
    • Independent living residents who usually eat in the dining room will continue to have their meals delivered to their unit.

We urge residents to:

  • Continue to stay at home as much as possible.
  • While not mandatory, we recommend you wear a mask if you go out.
  • Please don’t gather in common areas.
  • Continue to practice social distancing (keep 1.5 metres apart), hand hygiene and cough etiquette.
