RetireAustralia COVID-19 update: South Australian Lockdown

Published: 18 November 2020

The South Australian government has announced that South Australia will be locked down for six days from midnight on Wednesday 18 November.

The South Australian Premier Steven Marshall says the measures are a necessary ‘circuit breaker’ to allow for a contact tracing blitz on cases linked to the Parafield cluster.

What does the lockdown mean?

People will only be able to leave their home for the following reasons:

  • Grocery shopping.
  • To receive medical care including COVID-19 testing.
  • To obtain medical supplies.
  • To access veterinary services.
  • One person from the household, once a day, can go to the supermarket to buy groceries.
  • For compassionate reasons.
  • If they are an essential worker.
  • In an emergency situation.
