Target golf a hit at Glengara Care

Target golf at Glengara Care

As Glengara Care’s Diversional Therapist, Lauren says “when you love your job, it’s easy to get up in the morning”. She brings that same enthusiasm and zest for life to the Glengara Care community, organising an array of creative activities to keep residents engaged, happy and connected.

While COVID restrictions have made this a little more difficult, Lauren has risen to the creative challenge. She recently created a home-made golf putter course out of a cardboard box. This proved such a big hit that a Glengara Retirement Village resident, Denys, volunteered to build a proper course out of wood and plywood. This will be mounted on casters so it can be easily moved. Meanwhile, a Glengara Care resident, John (himself an avid artist), will paint a golf scene to add some vivid colour to the course. The new game is immune to bad weather, great for hand-eye coordination and even challenges residents’ balance. Sounds like a winner to us!
