Drayton Villas Retirement Village will round off carnival week in style with its Seniors’ Spring Fair on Saturday 29th September, with all proceeds going to drought relief charities.
The Drayton Road community is extending an invite to the general public to come along and enjoy the occasion from 10am to 2pm.
Over 3000 seedlings have been planted in the village’s community garden as part of an entry into The Chronicle’s garden competition.
Visitors can enjoy food and drinks including Devonshire Tea, baked goods and a sausage sizzle, and a fantastic range of market stalls, including bric-a-brac and books.
There will also be games and activities, including croquet, bowls and horseshoe throwing, and a resident-led apron parade.
Village Manager Scott Burton said the event promises to be great fun for a good cause.
“The Spring Fair will be a family-friendly event and we’re hoping to raise as much as possible for farming communities,” he said.
“Many of our residents came from farming backgrounds, so raising money for drought relief means a lot to everyone here.”
Everyone is welcome to attend Drayton Villas’ Seniors’ Spring Fair on Saturday 29th September from 10am to 2pm at 111 Drayton Road.
