RetireAustralia has five communities across the Central Coast:

• Forresters Beach: A peaceful lakeside village set around a network of lakes, close to beaches and just 10 minutes from Glengara Care.

There’s a wide range across the Central Coast communities:

• Brand-new apartments: Tarragal Glen’s 42 new architecturally designed apartments feature three unique floorplan designs with sweeping views. Wood Glen’s The Rise offers 58 luxury apartments in the Central Coast’s first vertical retirement living development.
• Independent living villas: Available at Tarragal Glen, Glengara and Forresters Beach. Typically 1, 2 or 3-bedroom single-level homes with open-plan living and private gardens or courtyards.
• Serviced apartments: Purpose-built apartments at Tarragal Glen and other villages for residents who want independent living with a little more day-to-day support.
• Care apartments: 70 spacious, modern apartments at Glengara Care for those who need a higher level of nurse-led care.

RetireAustralia villages are not available for rental. Most Central Coast communities operate under a leasehold model, where you pay an entry contribution for the right to live in your home under a long-term lease. This provides long-term security of tenure rather than a rental arrangement. The team at your preferred village can explain how this works and what the financial commitment looks like.

Pets are welcome at the majority of RetireAustralia’s retirement villages on the Central Coast. RetireAustralia considers pets part of the family and encourages residents to bring them along. There may be some guidelines around the types of pets suited to village life, so it’s worth checking with your preferred community for the specifics.

RetireAustralia is primarily a retirement living provider; the Central Coast communities are designed for independent, active retirees. Glengara Care at Tumbi Umbi is the exception, offering a premium aged care alternative for those who need more support. It’s designed to feel like home rather than a traditional aged care facility, with spacious private apartments, nurse-led care and no ACAT assessment required.

RetireAustralia’s Central Coast retirement villages require residents to be at least 55 years old. However, the homes, facilities and services at retirement villages are designed to suit the needs of older adults, with most residents typically aged 75 and over. At RetireAustralia, the average entry age is 78. Glengara Care has different eligibility criteria as a care community, contact the village team for details.
