Tarragal Glen Retirement Village will mark Anzac Day with a dawn service beginning at 5:45am in the village’s Country Club.
An army catafalque party, piper and bugler will perform ceremonial duties, and residents, friends and visitors are welcome to attend.
Tarragal Glen village manager Melissa Hamilton said the dawn service has become a firm tradition at the village.
“We’ve held a dawn service for many years and it’s a very important event on our calendar,” she said.
Tarragal Glen’s resident sub-committee organises the annual commemoration, along with Remembrance Day services on 11th November and other events.
Peter Thomson, a Tarragal Glen resident for eight years and former RAAF and Australian Army Active Reserve member for over 40, chairs the sub-committee.
“Our dawn service has always been very well attended by over 100 residents,” he said.
“We also usually have our federal and state members attend.”
Tarragal Glen’s Anzac Day dawn service begins at 5:45am on Wednesday 25th April in the Country Club at 6 Tarragal Glen Avenue, Erina.
