RetireAustralia COVID-19 update: Visiting Care Apartments in NSW

Published: 22 December 2020

In light of the evolving situation with community transmission of COVID-19 as a result of the Sydney Northern Beaches outbreak, we want to provide you with an update and further advice for care apartment residents in NSW.

Trips and visits from care apartments

If care apartment residents are planning to join family and friends for a Christmas celebration we recommend against this right now. However it is your choice.

If you do go ahead, please consider the following precautionary measures:

  • Have the celebration at home, rather than at a public venue.
  • Avoid going out in public as much as possible.
  • Avoid large gatherings, in particular in public areas.
  • Limit the number of visitors.
  • Wear masks where social distancing cannot be maintained

Visiting care apartment residents in Sydney and the NSW Central Coast

In light of the elevated risk of COVID-19 in Greater Sydney and on the NSW Central Coast we wish to remind you of the precautionary measures in place when visiting care apartment residents at:

  • Belrose Country Club, Bramblewood and Queens Park in Sydney.
  • Glengara Care and Tarragal Manor on the Central Coast.

  • Essential visits only:
    • To deliver personal care, medication, food and groceries.
    • For compassionate reasons.
    • No visits from children under 16.
  • Maximum of two visitors at a time please.
  • Visitors to wear masks while they are indoors.
  • No visitors from the Northern Beaches.
  • We also recommend that visitors from emerging high risk areas including Greater Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast do not visit the village.

Visiting care apartment residents in regional NSW

While the vast majority of new COVID-10 cases are in Greater Sydney and on the NSW Central Coast, case numbers continue to grow and pop up in new locations. So, we are implementing precautionary measures to help keep our care apartment residents safe at:

  • Boambee Gardens in Coffs Harbour.
  • Murray Gardens in Albury.
  • Riverina Gums in Wagga.

  • Maximum of two visitors at a time please.
  • Visitors to wear masks while they are indoors.
  • No visitors from the Northern Beaches.
  • We also recommend that visitors from emerging high risk areas including Greater Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast do not visit the village

We are here to help

If you have any questions or concerns, or need any help, please call your Village Manager directly. Importantly, at this time we recommend visitors call ahead to check the latest protocols before they visit.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.
